Classes M2 and M3 looked very similar, except that the M2 did not have Elesco heaters. Both had Wooten fireboxes and rear cabs and were used on heavy freight duties.

M2 (M63) No.s 800-895 built by Brooks 1920-22
retired 1947-1955.

M3 (M63) No.s 896-915 built by Alco 1923, retired 1947-1952; No.s 916-935 built by Baldwin 1925, retired 1951-1955
